based on internet data
06 honda pilot has stock alloy specs 16 x 6.5, 5 x 114.3 and 10 honda civic has a rim specs of 16 x 6.5, 5 x 114.3 i am planning to upgrade my civic stock 16's to 17's and use the (1) stock rim as a full size spare on pilot (after i change the tire), one on my pilot and one on my civic. thus the 2 extra would be eventually sold. based on the data it is feasible. but is it really? can the steel rims that were designed for civics withstand the weight of the pilot? a big thank you to the guys contributing, supporting and running this website. |

Do NOT put Civic Wheels on a Pilot. In fact any good tire shop will likely refuse to mount the tires.
Why? Parts for a Civic are designed to handle the stresses and strains of a 2600lb Civic. They are not designed to handled the stresses and strains of a 4500lb Pilot. Putting Civic wheels under a Pilot will likely lead to catastrophic wheel failure, resulting in injury to you, as well as any innocent occupants inside or outside your vehicle.
