Trying to get a more aggressive off-road look and feel to my Pilot, what would be the largest size tire I should go with on the stock 16's? Was thinking about 255/70R/16 from BFGoodrich but wanted some opinions?
Thanks BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO |

If by Large you want width then 255 is the largest size people have put on first gen Pilots. However they used a lower aspect ratio to maintain the same overall diameter of the tire.
One person did use 245/75-16 with no reported clearance issues. Pilot on 245/75 16" The extra 10mm width isn't much- not even half an inch- but is it enough clearance? The 245s look awfully close to the inner fender thinking about using 255/65/16 A search reveals the following thread: Tallest Tires? Getting friendly with the search function of a forum is a great thing to do

Supposed to fit. 255/70/16 255/70/R16 DO fit on a Pilot
Just be a little careful and make sure the tires you select don't have too much tread on the sides that is not in the tread-width measurement. Some "truck" tires have some extra tread that I don't think is included in the measurements. |

And don't forget that larger tires reduce your torque.

Larger tires do NOT reduce engine output either BHP or Torque.
However larger tires do affect gearing with the engine revving lower down in the range for any specific speed.

Sorry, they lower effective torque as applied to moving the vehicle.
