Default Will these fit?

Hi All,

I'm a total Newb to this site, but not to Honda products. Currently have an 06 Odyssey for another two weeks until the lease is up, and also have a Honda VFR800 sportbike. Over the years have had 3 Accords, an 03 Pilot, and a couple Odysseys in the "Family".

Later this week, I'll be picking up a used 07 Pilot EX-L. It has a mix and match set of tires that I'll be pulling off and likely putting on some Michelin LTX (or close).

My question is - will 255/65/16 tires fit in the wheelwells ok without rubbing?

Stock is 235/70/16 - and I know that going to a 255/65/16 will keep the speedo very close - but I've no idea on rubbing issues.

Any help is appreciated!

I did a quick search of the forum for 265 but didn't spot anything immediately.

I did see that 255/70 had been used by some and here is the photo http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...t/Fender01.jpg

My concern about going wider would be for three reasons
1: Tire rub on steering or other suspension parts.
2: Wider tire may not fit on the 6.5 inch rims according to the tire manufacturer.
3: Tire may stick out beyond the bodywork.

Thanks Rocky - I was hoping to get 255 width in the wheel wells - so it looks like you answered that question. (Not trying to do the 265 as you mentioned though).

Your concerns are the same as I have - was hoping someone would chime in that had gone with 255 width.

Thanks!

20 mm is roughly 0.75 inches, so there would be roughly 0.375 extra inches on each side of the current set up. Shouldn't be an issue as long as the rim width is in the acceptable range as Rocky pointed out. You may loose a bit of wet/snow traction due to the wider contact patch. Not sure how much the effect would be.

Thanks - are you also running stock rims?

I'll be getting a dedicated set of snow tires as well - and they will go back to the OEM size or perhaps a little narrower for better traction.

I was also looking into the 255 in a 70 or 65 profile for the stock wheelset on my '06 EX-L. Have you made your purchase?
