Default Tire rotation - TPM?

If I rotate the tires, is the TPM smart enough to recognize the tire location has changed?

YES, even with a full size TPMS spare and a 5 tire rotation.

Spare doesn't register on TPMS. Be a good move if it did.

The local Goodyear Service Center wanted to reprogram (for a fee) the TPMS when they installed new tires. I looked at the guy like he was nuts for suggesting such a thing.

I wonder what tool the mechanic would have used to perform this service...
