I have a 2003 Pilot EX-L with about 200,000km on it.
When I bought it a few years ago it had new MotoMaster Total Terrain tires on it. After some 40,000km they are still in fairly good condition with some mild "cupping" on the edges. With the most recent rotate I noticed considerable road noise from the tires. Undoubtly the cupping was causing some of this. As I think back I did notice that the Pilot always had fairly significant road noise, but after driving an extended cab chevy truck before this, the Pilot seemed pretty quiet...so I just never really noticed it. Yesterday I had different tires put on the Pilot (Goodyear Wrangler SR-A). I ended up buying these "barely used" for such a good price that I could not resist. The Motomaster tires still had lots of tread left. It is incredible how much quieter and how little road noise there is now. It is like driving a whole different vehicle. Realizing these GoodYear's are not top end tires, I am more than willing to drive on them until they wear out. I am sure happy with the lower road noise. I am not trying to bash Canadian Tire, but my advice would be NOT to buy MotoMaster Total Terrain tires for your Pilot. |

Thanks for your input. I've looked at these before, as Canadian Tire usually has a buy 1 get 2nd for half price deal, but decided against them.

thanks for the input, I am near the point of new tires and was seriously considering the 1.5 price, very attractive albeit but I have had my original goodyears now for nearly 5 years and 99,000 km. Will likely stay the goodyear path.
