Question 235 or 245/70/16

What are the advantages or disadvantages on going a little wider. I know the 245 would be a little beefier looking. Am I losing gas mileage for a wider track on the road.

Looking at
Michelin Latitude Tour
General Grabber HTS
Nokian WRG2 SUV

I put a set of General Grabber UHP in the 245/70 size and love em'. Be very aware of noise when choosing your next tire. The OEM Integrities are whisper quiet compared to my Grabbers, they have a very aggressive tread pattern.

Pros: Much 'beefier' look than the 235, nothing else positive about bigger size.

Cons: Substantially heavier tire than OEM 235. Gas mileage decreased about 1-2mpg immediately after installing the new tires. I check my mileage at EVERY fill-up, and noticed the drop right away. No other cons... no rubbing anywhere, front or rear. Speedometer is still within 1 mph according to the gps. When I'm driving 60 per the speedometer, the gps is saying 61 mph. OK by me.

I too want to go with the 245's on the OEM wheel. I am kind of surprised that the Grabbers are noisy. I thought the Integrities were noisy.

I have Cross Terrains on a 4-Runner and they seem reasonably quiet. I definitely wanted to get the quietest tires possible for the Pilot. Any suggestions for a quiet tire with "adequate" traction (i.e. better traction than the Integrities).

Default General Grabber HTS

I just ordered a set of General Grabber HTS for my 06 Pilot in the stock size and will take a few days to get to the tire shop. They should be installed in a few days. The reviews have been very good on this tire and the price is quite a bit cheaper than many others. The tire shop wanted an extra $15 per tire or so to recondition the TPMS sensors. I don't think I need to do this. Anyone have this done when replacing their tires? Anyone have the Grabber HTS tires on their Pilot; if so, how do you like them?
