One of the original GY Integrities on my '03 Pilot has a crack/slow leak in the side wall and all of them have 7/32 to 8/32 tread left. So I'm thinking it's time to replace them. I've also been sorely disappointed by the Pilot's performance in rain and snow - very poor traction. I had a '94 Grand Cherokee before this and I drove that thing through any and all adverse conditions (including ice) with complete confidence. It never, ever slipped or slid. The Pilot is so bad I've been wondering if the AWD system is malfunctioning and failing to deliver power to the rear wheels when needed. After reading some of the threads in this forum I'm optimistic that the problem is my old Integrities.
I live in Chicago where we get all manner of bad weather. Not so much thick snow (rarely over a few inches at a time) but often icy. My reading here has led me to think that my best choice would be the Fortera Triple Tred, followed by either the Michelin LTX or the Grabber HTS. If anyone has any input as to which of these would be the best all around 4 season tire for these conditions I'd appreciate it! |

Glad you've been reading the various treads on tires.
Anything is better than the Gy's. Sounds like you don't drive alot of miles. Michelin LTX is well thought of including in snow.

You're referring to the LTX M/S I assume (as was I). I'm seeing now they make other versions of the LTX. |

I've had the Michelin cross terrains and LTX M/S. I went back to the cross terrains this time. I think they provide a better ride and feel to the car than the LTX's. As far as snow and rain they both seem to be fairly equal.
