Default Comfortable Tires?

Ok, I have been reading a lot of tire reviews on this site and there is a lot of talk of winter traction and tread wear. How about what tire gives the most comfortable ride? I just bought a set of Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S G051
and have noticed more noise and a harsher ride then the O/E Bridgestone Dueler H/T D684. I have tried running then at the specified 32 psi and then brought them down to 30psi. I do have a lot more traction in the snow then the Duelers had, we've had more then 30" so far. Traction is the main reason I wanted to get rid of them with only 18k on them. The tire rack has offered me a 30 day money back trial of these tires if I don’t like them, which I am thinking I don’t. I can say the reviews I read on the internet seem a bit skewed. The ratings for the Duelers to the Yokohamas would make you believe that it was going to be night and day riding on the later. Totally not true. The Geo's make it ride a lot more like a"truck". Anyone have first hand experience with a tire giving a more comfortable quiet ride?
Merry Christmas
Tom

Tire noise = One of the big failings of the first gen Pilot.

Comfortable ride: Tires are just part of the equation with springs, shocks vehicle load being other factors. If you have alot of miles on your car replacing the shocks will result in a smoother more controlled ride. You would also get more control by adding the rear braces on to your pilot. That tends to control the rear end bouce/rebound when lightly laiden.

It sounds like you want a quieter smoother ride and honestly I don't think there is much you can do to improve things at the price of those Yokos. You are probably aware of the GY intregrities poor reputation for grip on this board, but that is a soft riding tire due in no small part to its soft sidewalls.

Thanks for the reply. The Pilot is a 07 with 18k on it. Actually I like vehicles when then do get mileage on them and are more "broken in". My last car was 90 Cadillac, so its going to be hard to match the ride of that

You'll never match the floating over everything feeling that Cadi gave you.

Yeah, really ... I mean come on. My TripleTreds are much quieter than the OEM Goodyears, and the Silent Armors are specifically intended to be quiet SUV tires but the Pilot is simply not a very quiet vehicle.

Update here. Geolanders are off and replaced with a set of Michelin Latitudes. Absolute world of difference. Noise is almost completely gone and even better then when I had the OE Brigestones on. Ride comfort, which is most important to me, is much better also. The Geolanders turned my Pilot into a truck, not a 30k SUV. I have read many of the articles on this site with opinions on tires and it seems that alot of people want to drive their Pilots as off road type vehicles, I dont. I live in Wisconsin and we have had over 30" of snow in December already, but they plow all the roads within 12 hours of each snowfall and its not an issue. I have much better traction in snow with the new Michelins then I originally did with the Bridestones. I most likely dont have all the traction that the LTX's would give but thats perfectly fine with me.

To get a deeper user review in www.tirerack.com which includes ratings on different categories also one question of "Will You Buy That Tire Again" The TOP-3 are very likely great tires if users will buy that tire again.
