Default Update - Couldn't take it anymore...

My wife couldn't take the Goodyear Integrity's anymore so with only 10k miles on them, I ordered a set of Cooper ATR today for her. I ordered them from Treadepot - it came to 472 for all four - plus Cooper is doing a 50 dollar rebate as well. So that will be 422 for a complete set - Not to bad.

Before buying the Pilot - I had the Coopers on our Tahoe and we really liked them, so we will give them a shot on the Pilot.

I will let you all know how they perform as this tire would definitely be a great option for anyone looking for a quality tire for a good price.

More to follow.

Cool!!!!!

Had to go out on the web and take a look at that tire. It is sharp lookin' !

Did you go with the 235/70 stock size? I went with General Grabber UHP's in 245/70 size and I love the beefy size and the aggressive tread. The Coopers were on the list also, but price won out.

Got mine from tirerack.com about $430 with a $50 rebate/visa gift card.

Keep us updated with your thoughts on your new tires! I suffered through my Integrities for 55,000 miles. We live in the Houston, Tx area and we only have to deal with wet conditions. Snow and ice are not factors for my tire decision making.

Looks like a good tire for the price.

Please keep us posted. My GY Integs are toast, I have the snows on now, so will need new tires come spring time.

I should have changed them this summer, but they still had some life left in them, but not much.

thanks

I put the tires on last weekend - so my wife has had a week to review them....and all she could say was - Awesome !!!

For anyone who has been contemplating replacing you Goodyear Infinity's - I would recomment that you do so - as soon as possible.

She called me from work the other day when it was raining out and stated that the Pilot was a totally different car....no more slipping around corners and she also said the car is much more stable on drive pavement as well.

I would highly recommend the Coopers for the Pilot - lets just see how many miles she gets out of them as she puts on about 20k a year.

Next up - Snow performance....we are suspossed to have some tomorrow or Wednesday.

Please post an update on snow performance when available. My GY Integrities have 17K on them and their performance in the rain last week was terrible. These have to be the worst tire I've ever had.

I have to agree with you on the Integrities....They are the worst tires that I have every owned - In my opinion - Honda should be ashamed of themselves for putting this tire on their SUV !!!

Now - I am pretty sure I know why they did....because they give the Pilot better gas milage....with the Coopers - my wife has lost 1.5 mpg - she went from 20.5 mpg to 19 mpg.

I weighed the tire/rim combo before and after installation....

The Integrities/Stock Rim weighed - 44 pounds
The Coopers/Stock Rim weighed - 56 pounds

The increase of unsprung weight and more agreesive tread have a direct impact in the Pilots milage - but the less milage is far better trade for the better traction and stability now provided by the Coopers.

As for the snow - we havent received a mesurable amount yet but as soon as we do - I will let you know - but I can tell you already that these tires are going to be MUCH better then the Integrities.

The GY Integrity performance in snow is great as long as you are not trying to accelerate, brake or corner.

Update - We had 2 significant snow falls here in CT and all I can say is the Cooper Discoverer ATR's are great in the snow !!!!

I followed another Pilot on the way home from Work on Friday(yes borrowed the wife's Pilot) and could tell it still had the junk Integrity's on it. Each time we stopped on an incline - I could see the Integrity's spin a bunch before it started to move....where as my Pilot with the Coopers dug right in and had no issues.

I cant say enough how much I love the Coopers - now I feel much better about my wife going back and forth to work the rest of the Winter.

If you haven't replaced your Integrity's yet and you live in an area that has snow - you dont know what you are missing with performace of the Pilot in winter with good tires.

So with middle son needing the PIlot for a 60 mile round-trip commute this winter (college internship) I took off the Michelin LTX M/S tires (about 1/2 gone tread-wise) and put on a set of Cooper Discoverer M&S - a dedicated snow tire. After driving in 2 snow storms up here in NH (about 10 inches each storm), the difference is like night and day compared to the Michelins, and even the stock Bridgestone's when brand new) . For those thinking that these snows are garbage based on various reviews, I'll say that those are unfounded claims for sure. I've driven on all brands of snows - Nokian Hakka 10,1,2 models, Bridgestone WS50/WS60 models, and the Cooper Weathermaster M/S - and these are as good as any of them - for a whole lot less pricewise (except the other coopers). The ride smooth on the highway, aren't very noisy, and handle extremely well when the weather gets nasty.

Big thumbs up for the coopers...

andy

I am wondering how you thought the road noise was from the integrities to the ATR's. I am currently looking at tires and the ATR's are $200 cheaper than michelin's I'm looking at.

They are fairly noisy - the integrities are/were super quiet compared to the ATR's but if you drive with the radio on - you will never notice it.

The little bit of increased road noise is a little price to pay for superior wet/dry/snow/cornering etc.....compared to the Intergrities.
