Question spare tire

somehow my factory spare tire got shredded. I have asked numerous honda dealers to reorder a new one. they told me that there is no way to reorder one. In addition I was told that I could not get a full size spare because it would not fit and/or it would throw off the weight balance. Is that true? I don't know how any part is impossible to get especially if a replacement is not possible. Does anyone know how to get a replacement? what size would I have to get? I have a 2004. I would appreciate the help. Thanks.

Your dealer is giving you the run around. Many of us on the board are running full sized spare with no regrets. You can check out our classifieds section for people selling their rims/tires and use that for the spare, that's what I did.

That makes no sense at all. For starters, there's no reason why a dealer wouldn't be able to order you a new replacement temporary spare tire. Heck, you can probably find one for free here.

Like humanoid said, a full-size tire will indeed fit where the spare tire goes. In fact, the owner's manual even states that when you change a flat tire, you put the flat where the spare tire goes.

I bought my full-size spare from someone on this site as well. Just check the Classifieds section... there's always someone selling their stock rims and tires.

In addition, I'd recommend NOT going to that Honda dealer any longer.

I have an unused small spare tire in San Jose. Do you ever get to the Bay Area? If I have to ship, I'd probably want $40 to cover costs. If you pickup, $20.
