Default The Official Merrywang (Banjo) Thread!

A music forum--what a great idea! This thread will be dedicated to the banjo (or Merrywang). Let's hear from all you banjo enthusiasts out there!

The Merrywang has such a wonderful cheerful and surprising sound! I just love the banjo but don't play it enough to be really any good at it. I actually have a custom 6-string banjo (which I can play like a guitar) and a cheap 5-string that I play around with every once in a while. I'll post pictures soon.

But in the meantime, you have to check out Strumelia Harmonia's hilarious banjo website. Here's her life story in pictures (A Girl's Story of Musical Corruption, WARNING: Tasteful vintage nudity posted only as a warning of the dangers that can befall merrywangsters!):

http://harmonias.com/page5.htm

Here's her Northeastern Hightone Headknockers chapter of the International Merrywang Society:

BTW, does anyone know where I can get a copy of 1,001 Banjos by Akira Tsumura?

Default Merrywangers Honeymoon

Here we are leaving for our honeymoon, a very long canoe ride to Switzerland! Well, someone had to paddle while I provided the romantic music!
