I donr know how old most of you are but I really like OLD SCHOOL METAL, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath and the like.
I am really fired up about the new DAMAGEPLAN. (risen from the ashes of Pantera)

I saw a Pantera just the other day. Decided not to race it in my Miata.

When I was in high school I was really into heavy metal, not any more, not even heavy metal mandolin. Yes, there is such a thing. If you're interested, click on Alex Gregory's "Heavy Metal Mandolin Boogie" link on this page.

Well, since you guys started this new music forum, I guess it's time for SHAMELESS PROMOTION!!!

Below is information concerning the upcoming series of concerts by the 24 voice professional chorus to which I belong, and since a couple of the first few posters in this thread are from the area I thought it might be okay to post it here.

Anyone in the Chicago area who enjoys good choral music in any style is encouraged to come!

The LAKESIDE SINGERS PRESENT-
SPRING KALEIDOSCOPE

The Lakeside Singers' Spring 2004 concert features music by Henry Purcell, Benjamin Britten, Camile Saint-Saens, contemporary composers Eric Whitacre and Chen Yi, music from the movies "O Brother Where Art Thou" and "Jungle Book, " gospel and pop numbers by Stevie Wonder, Olivia Newton John, the pop songwriting team of Brian Holland/Lamont Dozier/Edward Holland Jr. and the Clancy Brothers. A dazzling, virtuoso performance of music "from renaissance to rock" as only the Lakeside Singers can sing it!

Saturday, May 1, 8pm
Lund Auditorium, Dominican University
7900 West Division Street, River Forest

Friday, May 7, 8pm
Music Institute of Chicago
1490 Chicago Avenue, Evanston

Saturday, May 8, 8pm
Prairie Center for the Arts,
201 Schaumburg Court, Schaumburg

Get tickets and maps to our concerts at http://www.lakesidesingers.com
