Default Harry Chapin Favorites

Discussion on Facebook about old songs brought this on. Here are three of my favorites.

The first is a hard to find song. I founda CD that should have had it but it said at the bottom that due to space limitations it and another were omitted. It is sort of a bonding song between my daughter (26) and me (56).

Taxi the Sequel was his last song, he died 11 months later.

30,000 pounds of bananas is sort of a cult thing.

Go Harry, we miss ya!

I always think of "Cats in the Cradle" when I think of Harry Chapin. Seems like its so true of any father and son going through life. We do miss him.

I missed the Harry Chapin concert at the University of Delaware in 1981.
I don't remember why. I think I just got busy and forgot. You know, life of a college student. I had my apartment in Newark, my girlfriend in Wilmington, and my summer job in Vineland.
I remember looking the schedule of concerts that hung on the pantry door, the next morning and thinking; "I will see him next time".
I headed off to my job in New Jersey and about 1/2 way to Vineland I heard the news.
I remember clear as day thinking; "There is no next time."

Some memories last forever. Thank god his songs will.
