Personally, I would've chosen a different motto for Arkansas (where former President Bill Clinton served in public office): "Our women are so fast we need to put a governor on them!"

To try to coax this thread back to at least PG-13 territory, I present to you my proposed new motto for my neighboring state:

Delaware--Slots, seashore, 0% sales tax, and little more

And just to show my Delaware relatives that I'm evenhanded, and to indulge a sudden poetic urge, I'll follow up with a bit of verse about my native Maryland:

It's known as "America in Miniature"
Boasting mountains, bay, and ocean blue
But there's nothing remotely miniature
About Maryland taxes--yes, 'tis true

Whether we're talking state or county
Property, sales, and gasoline, too
Our tax rates and closing-cost bounty
Will make a pauper out of you!

Maryland, my Maryland, still mine indeed
Its history, the Orioles, and seafood stew
My little state, is it tax need or greed
Or do we secretly support D.C., too?
