Ok, I have 2 used vehicles I'm looking at. I'm confused as to which to get. First is a 2008 KIA Sedona LX. It's equiped similarly to the LX Odyssey. It has 22,300 miles and a 5 year, 60,000 mile warranty. It's in great shape, and was a rental. Car Fax is clean. They are asking $15,000. The second is a 2006 Odyssey EX, with back up sensors added. It has 40,000 miles, and they need to repaint the back bumper. It's Ocean Mist Metallic, which will probably show a difference in color. The interior looks pretty good. They want $16,200. The warranty is onlt 12 months..don't recall the mileage. 36,000? We're confused. The KIA is newer with less miles and better warranty. The Honda, more miles, older, less warranty..but it's a Honda. Any opinions? Anyone own or owned a KIA?
Figured I'd stop in here...you guys always have great opinions..

I love my '06 Ody, so my judgement is clouded. I also didn't read PP's links.
First, like you said, its a Honda. They'll usually run longer than you want to keep them if you keep up with maintenance. Second, the bumper: Don't worry about it. My bumpers didn't match from the factory! A buddy at the body shop said they're all like that. It has to do with the paint process on the polymer of the bumper vs on the steel. Mine is like driving an Accord wagon with high visibility. It runs like a scalded dog when called upon. Mine's an EX-L, so it has the variable cylinder thing, which gets great highway mileage...if I ever get to drive it on the highway. The only problem I've run into was recently. The power steering pump was making a whiring noise once the engine was warmed up. Turns out there's a TSB on it, and they replaced the resevoir and pump. On the Ody board, some have had luck getting them replaced out of warranty, though it's at the disgression of the service manager (if you've brought other vehicles there for service regularly, you may catch a break). The OEM Michelins STINK in snow, so others have replaced them with Yokahama's or Coopers and have had decent luck. I just bought snow tires. Can't speak to the Kia. A buddy in college had one and it was a real POS, but then most peoples college cars were. HTH

Well, we picked up the KIA tonight. Has 22,300 miles on it, and we picked it up for $14,100. I'm impressed so far. Compared to the Chrysler, it's quieter..and the pick up..very good. It has the manumatic trans which really helps pick up even more than normal. And, compared to the 05 Odyssey I had, it's at least as quiet inside. We'll see how it fares.

FWIW Kia is part of Hyundai sharing engines chassis etc.
You'll do fine with it.

Kia has made significant improvements in build quality over the years. They might be behind Honda overall, but you should do fine. My nephew has a Kia (do not remember the model name) for 3 years now and it has been very reliable.
