the side-marker lights look familiar--it seems they found an application for all the surplus side-markers originally made for 06-08 pilots!

Acura grilles are screwed up as well.

Somebody at Honda/Acura with no taste must have the ability to dictate that ugly design is the only way forward and nobody dares challenge him or her.

honda is probably going to end up putting that new grille on every car in the lineup. it'll go through its phase, and after a generation or so it will pass. for now, we'll just have to get used to it.

The grill? Have ya looked at the rest of the car?!! Maybe that's it. If people are revolted enough by the grill, they won't notice how hideous the whole car is.

OTOH, somebody must be buying them or Honda wouldn't still be making them. I see Pilots all over the place. I hardly ever see an Element on the road.

I've seen Elements all over here in SoCal, not so much the new Pilot. I think I've grown accustomed to the boxiness of the Element.

I see Elements all over Houston. I've always really liked them in the form follows function theme. In fact, I almost bought one a few years ago and would have more recently if not for the 4 peron limitation not fitting my 5 person household.

Can't say I see the new corporate grill as an improvement. Not that it's a vehicle for looks anyway...I'd like to see it go more the way of the Jeep in design theme for styling cues of utility...doesn't have to have the 7 bar grill, just the utilitarian theme taken further similar to the Toyota FJ without the 4x4.

Nissan's Cube is next to join the funky box on wheels club. Little too funky for my taste...

there is an article on the nissan cube in the latest issue of car & driver. along with the azeal concept, it appears nissan is looking to compete with scion in the small, quirky, funky cars market.

Saw that article, too. I guess for modding trends it was Ford A tubs in the 50s, pony cars in the 60s and 70s, small pickups in the 80s (remember those tilting and elevating beds?), full size trucks through the 90s, and now the funk boxes in the 00s. Hmmm...wonder if we'll see a bunch of battery stacked hybrid hatches in the 10s?
