I think Chevy did a great job with the styling on this, and I'm not a big Chevy fan. The Camaro has the retro styling, but its still very modern. To me, the Mustang and the Challenger are just retro.

Believe me - if I lived in an area where I could use it year-round, I'd be the first in line to get one. But up here, and with kids in school, I don't have the $$$ to have a summer car and a winter car - and having owned my share of RWD sports cars in the past, there's NO way I'd be able to get around during the winter. Maybe when I win the lottery. But I do love the car - moreso than the Challenger and the Mustang retro-variants!

I haven't liked American brand cars since we got our 2001 CR-V, which replaced my 1987 Grand Am V6. GM is making better cars/trucks now with catchier designs, and they didn't skimp on safety features either which is a must have for me now.

I am going to wait until they release the HUD as an option, and then I'll put my order in. No snow down here, so we can use it pretty much whenever we want.

I like the new design of the camaro but inclined more with the challenger. (but for a bang for the buck supercar, it would go to the gtr hands down. porsche even had to send the gt2 to play with it and it lost to the gtr.OT)

Very nice, pics! Growing up, I was always a Mustang fan 'cause my Dad had a '67, but I have to admit this looks very nice. I test drove the current Mustang when it first came out and wasn't that impressed, but I did like the retro look. This Camaro does look nicer, I think. Did I hear that it would be very heavy??? It will have IRS, unlike the Mustang.

Wifey is due for a new ride about then, so it might come up in the conversation.

BUT, living in a lake effect snow belt, AND having lived with an '82 Z28 for several years up here, I doubt it will be part of the conversation for long. We nick-named her Z "the sled".

Sweet looking ride,though.

I think I have read about 3,800 pounds, which is heavy, but then again it seems all cars/trucks are getting heavier. I don't care really. I'll take the extra weight for safety's sake. There are still lots of big, heavy trucks/suv's out there.

Yeah, IRS will be nice for handling and overall ride quality.

There is going to be a package with ambient lighting too, blue and orange IIRC. Here's the blue.

Wife had a Camaro, 79, from 79 to 94. Fun car. But today, I want a Mazda Miata (GT, Highland Green, Auto, cloth tan top - do I sound like I have doing my research?)

When my wife gets her PhD she wants a Porsche Cayman. (keep dreaming).

GM and Ford have made progress but after my last car, an 01 Impala that sold for $24,000 and was worth $5000 when I got rid of it to get my 05 Pilot and after my wife's 00 Malibu, we will wait until they have something besides their sales slogan that this year is better. After they show they are finally building a quality product I will see. (Will they ever build something as fun as a Miata?? No way! )

Well, Dodge had that Demon concept and GM has the Pontiac Solstice / Saturn Sky but they are not nearly as practical as a Miata, especially a PRHT. BTW, if your wife gets the Cayman, I will consider swapping.

Nice car! Despite being a new model... were you able to get a good deal with GM struggling and all?
