Default Suburu Imprezza

I know this is a Honda Pilot forum, but I got to comment on the new 2008 Suburu Imprezas. I love it. Great car! I am averaging 25 mpg, and I commute up and down a mountain everyday. My wife got over 31mpg according to the lie-o-meter, and my second fill up was 28mpg according to my calculations- mostly highway driving. The car handles great, and I love the sport shift transmission. If you guys are looking for a new car under $20,000, look at the new Suburus. Its one awesome car. I also love the 2.5 litre Boxer engine. It feels really torquey for a 4 cylinder. Its rated at 170hp and 170lbs of torque. I cant imaging what the 300hp WRX STI must be like.

i've always liked subaru's, but i'm not sure if i like the new impreza hatchback. maybe it just hasn't grown on me yet. i really like the legacy. is yours the base 2.5 model? i was interested in getting one a while back, but changed my mind since anything higher than the base model legacy or impreza required premium fuel.

Moved from General to Off-Topic/Other Automobiles

Thread stealing here but I think the 2009 Subaru Forester's is one of the best looking cars out there today.

Good looking AWD wagon under starting at $22k list. Hopefully the diesel versions will make it to the USA with their 38mpg fuel sipping ways intact

A lady co-worker drives a Subaru and we saw how fast she can drive that car out of the parking lot. Maybe because she saw us gawking at her.

Kidding aside, the Subaru is one of the few remaining Japanese cars that are still Made in Japan. Build quality and design are top notch.

I just sold my '04 WRX for the Pilot and I somewhat miss it. It sure was a swiss army knife. It hauled, towed, carried and did it with some serious speed if pushed but the MPG were a little disappointing on top of the premium fuel required. Subaru has come a long way in vehicle refinement over the last 5 yrs. They always had dependable engines/trannnies but were quirky and outdated int he design area. Now, they have some seriously nice looking cars.

I was so glad that Subaru decided to bump the HP up to 265-270 for the '09 WRX's. It's now running sub 14 sec 1/4 miles and 5.1 for0-60. They also added some cosmetic effects which make it look more aggressive.
