Default ncelk goes green

Well, after 6 months or so with the MDX, the wife has decided that she wants to trade it for a hybrid. I know that several of you have had them, and for the most part have liked them.

The MDX goes to the Toyota dealer on Monday, when we pick up our 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid. THIS one is supposed to be the car we keep. We will see. I welcome any feedback you other hybrid owners have had........

I wasn't looking for your approval, I think I specifically asked for comments from people that had owned a hybrid.

Since you know so much about me, I am sure you know more about what I need than I do. Fact is, you have no idea what I need in a vehicle. Thanks for the unsolicited comments.

Good choice.

If I were shopping for a replacement car for my wife, the Camry Hybrid would be near the top of the list. It works and it drives well.

i was actually thinking about trading my pilot in for a camry hybrid as well. with gas prices this high, it would be a lot easier on my wallet. i've done some research on several hybrids and the camry would best suit my needs (great MPG, roomy, more power than prius and civic hybrids, affordable, etc). i also like the accord hybrid, but insurance companies seem to recognize it as a 'performance sedan', so the camry got the top spot. good luck with the camry, please share your experiences with it here!

I hope you find a Camry board as friendly as this Pilot boad has been. Good luck on your choice, I also hope the pilot does not come out with a hybrid too soon. I know several people that have Camry hybrids and they all like them. I drive a Prius at work and it is fun to drive, lots of pickup and I can get into the 40+mpg range, according to its computer, without any troubles.

I wasn't offering my approval or disapproval.

Sorry if my comments struck close to home but when you move from a SUV to a luxury SUV then downsize to a car it does make a statement about your needs in a vehicle.

I always buy on both emotion and what I really need. Life would be very boring if we only bought things on need alone.

Good choice ncelk! The Camry Hybrid is a great vehicle, IMHO.

I think you'll like the HyCam a lot. I've been driving a Prius for the last 2.5 years and haven't had one bit of trouble with it. It gets driven pretty hard and still over the first 36k miles have gotten 45.2mpg (calculated with actual gas pumped in). The computer averages about 1.5% optimistic on the mpg reading.

Overall the Toyota hybrid system seems to be designed really well so the HyCam should treat you nicely.

Enjoy,

Jeff

Over at GreenHybrid.com it's referred to as a TCH. The Highlander is a HiHy, but the Camry is a TCH.

BTDT, loved the TCH, love the HiHy in a bigger way.

And I'm still jay_man2 over there. The TCH forum is much more active than the HiHy forum. And no other auto-related board is as nice as this one, all things considered.

And don't forget that our very own Wilson Wong, wwong, has put together a great pad set for the Camry!

See pics of the pads in my Camry Hybrid over at GreenHybrid.com.

Sure, sure. While you may be able to read certain things into certain trends, I doubt this is one of them. Speaking as a trend-setter, of course. Well, recognizing that colorider is my mentor figure and role model.
