Default 2007 Crv

Check out the Pictures. The MP3 media drive is pretty cool.

Cheers

According to the CRV project leader the target customers are "Cool Moms". But apparently it's only for cool moms who don't carry a lot of kids (only seats 5) and who don't need a lot of hp (only 166hp). Prices range from $21K to $29K. Do they really think that anyone is going to opt for a $29K CRV (EX-L with Navi) over a Pilot with the pricing so close?

it's still going to sell regardless. When 2nd generation CRV just came out, I hate the look of it. But you get use to it soon or later.

I like the 1. Trip computer in dash, 2. double decked trunk, 3. MP3 player built-into Navi that takes CF or PCMCIA HD. 4. 17" Tire, 4. Fuel efficiency.

The article in which the CR-V project leader quoted that it was targeted at cool moms also said that Honda was trying to make the best CRV possible. It wasn't trying to chase the competition and a V6 and 3rd row clashed with the concept of CR-V. Sounds like he is trying to make the best of being neutered by the RDX crew.........

A friend of ours just bought a '06 CRV. She was tired of being the school bus (with her previous Grand Caravan) and wanted a cute, fuel efficient AWD vehicle (they live at the top of a steep hill). It suits her just fine (I guess she's cool, too )

They take hubby's Acura TL on road trips.

The fact that the CRV is underpowered really kills it's mpg. Our 1st gen CRV got only a little better real world mpg than our Pilot because it had to work so hard to keep up with traffic.

Not sure what you define "a little better" as, but our '01 CR-V constantly gets about 24mpg versus about 18 for the Pilot. The Pilot only has about 7500 miles on it so it's still probably breaking in, but 6 mpg seems like a lot to me.

We got 22 mpg for the CRV and 19 mpg for the Pilot under the same commute. The Pilot doesn't break a sweat on the highway merges, the CRV used to be floored with the A/C off. MY comment was geared to our experience in regards to it being a more fuel efficient vehicle - because it has to be driven harder, we found that it was even further away from EPA mpg estimates than the Pilot.

My comparison numbers are even better then, because honestly, I drive the Pilot very conservatively versus the CR-V because over almost 72K miles, the CR-V usually gets around that no matter how hard or soft I drive it. I will say that when the Pilot was new and I was very good at babying the vehicles, I got over 26mpg with the CR-V, but to get that, I had semi trucks and concrete trucks passing me. It's worth a mile or two per gallon not to get run over.

Yes. First, because "so close" for a *comparable* Pilot (EX-L with Navi) is still a difference of around $5K, and that's a dealbreaker for a lot of people. Second, because some buyers just don't want the Pilot - they like the smaller size and more nimble feel of the CR-V. Third, because until/unless the Pilot is made to look more rounded and swoopy, the new CR-V has a very different style from the Pilot, and it will appeal to buyers who don't like the Pilot's looks.

Hmmm... definitely have some mixed emotions on this one. I do like the look of it over the previous generation, but am not crazy about that C-pillar treatment - looks like that would make for a helluva blind spot. Honda has always been about form following function, and this seems to deviate from those roots.
