Um, because your GMC would be in the shop so much?

I think that's his meaning. But I'll be honest that my only issue with GM products have been with cars, not with trucks. I've owned 3 in the last 10 years - a 96 GMC Jimmy, a 98 Chevy conversion van, and an '01 Tahoe. None were frequent visitors to the dealership - as opposed to my aztek, bonneville, regal and a couple of others over the years. The '01 Tahoe was especially good - great fit/finish, reliable. I wouldn't dismiss this latest vehicle from the truck division without a close look first.

My 2004 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab was the reliable vehicle during the time frame that we lemoned a 2003 Acura MDX and 2004 Toyota Sienna. It still hasn't had any significant problems but at least our 2005 Pilot has been reliable too. We also have lots of friends with newer Suburban/Yukon XL/Escalade ESVs that have had no significant problems. I also know a few people with Buick Rendezvous that have had a few minor problems on par with those Pilot owners experience.

It was in the shop so much that GM gave me a 60,000 mile extended warrenty on it.

My next door neighbour is bound to bring one home from the GM staff garage. When he does I'll take some up close pictures and post them. He's driven an Acadia back to back with a Pilot and he says ( of course he's biased ) that the Acadia rides much smoother and quieter than the Pilot and feels more powerful.

Wouldn't those factors in the Acadia depend on the power and the smoothness of the tow truck pulling it?

Could be. I didn't actually see him driving it. Then again chances are better than average it was a GMC tow truck
