Thought I would share my '74 Toyota Hi-Lux p/u. Almost 33 years old and a little less than 32K on the clock. All original. I would rather have a TR-6 but I am not a good enough mechanic to have one. It does come in handy for Home Depot trips and collector insurance is a large advantage, cost wise.

hanging below the glove box. I'd hate to hit my knees on that thing! 30 something years makes a big difference in a product line. Truck runs great and it garners a bit of attention from p/u fans. Cheers!

I had a 1976 Toyota Pick-up owned that baby until 1991, wife sold it for 2000.00 in Oklahoma. It would not pass the smog check in Houston, hours after my wife sold my beloved Toyota Pick-up, I had my first heart attack! Had 145,000 miles on the odometer. Only major repair was a new clutch at 110,000 .

Nice job restoring your truck
I had a Datsun P/U that rusted out and became a farm truck. We called it our motorized wheelbarrow. At the end of it's life it had no muffler or brakes but we still were hauling firewood in it, Every now and then = late at night - I'd take it out on out road to clean out the engine. Finally I could no longer shift it so I scraped it.

That's the thing. I bought this truck on Ebay almost three years ago from a gent in Vegas who owned it for a short time. He bought it for his son who didn't want it, he wanted something else all together (just like a teen!). The original owner had the truck in Arizona for over 28 years. There is no rust and everything is original. It looks like it did get an original color paint job at some point, but was it 10, 15 or 25 years ago is anybody's guess. It really was like buying a pig poke all the way from NJ. When I got it, I saw that the heater core was bypassed and the battery was a little weak. There is a radiator place near where I live that has darn near any cooling system related part you can think of; and what they don't have they will make. They actually had a new heater core for this truck sitting on the shelf. When I told the guy I couldn't believe it, he said "we have more how many do you want?
. Long story short, I replaced the heater core and bought a new battery. It's funny the Hispanic folk I run into go nuts over the truck and want to buy it on the spot. It seems they are still running around Central/South America. The single wall bed these these things had insured that all have rusted out on the East Coast years ago. In my neck of the woods it is one of a kind. I'd still rather have a mint TR6, but alas, I am not that good of a mechanic. Cheers to all! PS: Yes, I did pay more than the original purchase price! But I do have the original owners manual and touch up paint!

Nice truck, and a great story behind it.
I'll second the great savings to be had on collector car insurance. It's the only way I could afford to keep my 82 Corvette Collector Edition around despite my growing family.

the coolness factor of your 'vette beats my old truck any day! But I can carry more 2X4's! Wait! 2X4's mean a project and a project means work. On second thought, the 'vette is way better; you can escape work at a high rate of speed!
Cheers........
