Just curious, we want to sell our other SUV (GMC Envoy) and get a sedan to have a car that gets better milage. We are looking at the Accord EX-V6 and the Altima SL.
Anyone have any opinions?

I agree. While the Nissans are very nice, in my experience the quality is just honestly a step below.

We love our Accord! My friend traded up from a Grand Am to an Altima last year, then drove our 3 year old Accord, and wished she had looked at Hondas sooner...

Accord for sure.
Especially after the MMC the Accord received a nicer tail design. ![]() Camry being the #1 selling family sedan in North American and Accord is the right after Camry. I don't even see where Altima is on the list.

wow - asking people in this forum to pick b/w a honda and a nissan will more than likely not net unbiased opinions.
that being said, it's pretty much universally agreed that Honda and Toyota are the quality / reliability benchmarks for the Japanese auto industry in the US market. Resale values are consistently higher, and customer satisfaction rates (and most importantly sales) reflect that. based on your question, a new accord is probably a better value than a new altima. but if you're looking used, you'd probably get more "car" for your money if you went with the nissan. I would be leery of a used accord priced below KBB / Edmunds, simply because of its high demand as a used vehicle.

As an owner of both ( Pilot & '01 Altima SE) I believe that they are not meant to compete head to head. They are the same class of car but, meant for different buyers. I think nissan with the Maxima above and the Altima below an Accord as far as price, I feel that Nissan is going for a sportier car and younger audience. I agree with BubbleSparkx that for a slightly used you will get more bang for your buck with the nissan. If resale is most important, then honda would be the choice.
