Default Changes

I didn't even see this coming until a week ago (well, maybe a little). After a lot of thinking and re-thinking, we have sold the RidgeLine. I delivered it to the stealer this morning and picked up a loaner to drive for a week or so until our new Camry Hybrid arrives.

It was a HUGE decision as we LOVE the RidgeLine, but going forward, feel we can do fine with a sedan again - although we will likely buy a small utility trailer as time goes on for those few times when we need to haul any larger items. The fuel thing is not going to get better in our lifetime and I want to own a vehicle that we are not always reluctant to drive because of the mileage and associated cost. The tax credit now being offered adds a little icing to the cake.

We have enjoyed the RidgeLine over the last 14 months/15K miles - every bit as much as we did our Pilot for the 2 1/2 years we owned it.

And now I will have a "mixed" sig file as I will be adding a Toyota to my ALL-HONDA stable!!

I'll post pictures as soon as we take delivery.

Way to keep a positive outlook.

Good luck and keep us posted on what kind of mileage you get with your hybrid.

We would ALL like to think it will get better, and we will see occasional dips, but overall we will keep paying more each year. Even with the increased mileage that we are seeing on today's vehicles, our fuel bill will be greater.

Thanks. I'm not really expecting EPA in real life, but I think I will get reasonably close.

Congrats! How big of a hit the trade-in value of the Ridgeline?

Thanks. I think Jay is much like my brother - pretty much Toyota through and through. This will be my third Toyota in close to 30 years.

The problem on the hybrids is there is virtually no discounting going on (and probably will not be for a quite some time).

I basically got "average" trade on the RidgeLine.

Allright Jay, first you with the Lexus Toyota thing, now colorider.......................

Hey Colorider, you know Toyota does not make motorcycles, right????

I understand where you are coming from though.

I will drive our Pilot for a while I hope, but I sure would love to see a diesel version.................

Congrats Colorider. That must have been a tough decision. You are on the bike most of the time anyway aren't you?

Now that you have gone to the Jay side, is XM around the corner?

See, I told you jay was a bad influence on us!!!!! (j/k)

I'm sure we will see more and more diesel offerings as time goes on.

It was a tough decision - more so than when I sold the Pilot and bought the RidgeLine. Probably because even with the RidgeLine, I still had part of the Pilot. We had XM in the RidgeLine and although the hybrid is "XM ready", we will probably just use my portable unit that we now use in the S2K.

I have OEM XM in my Box. While I was waiting until it was installed by the dealer, I used my Audiovox Xpress. The Toyota XM has a single line display that you toggle through. The Xpress had a 5-line display, and even using the wireless FM Modulator, sounded great.

If I had it to do over again, I'd probably pass on the $449 Toyota XM option. The $260 iPod integration, though, I'd do again in a heartbeat.

Especially when you'll be switching to Sirrus next year for NASCAR

I keep waiting and hoping that Sirius finally gets some decent hardware before I add a Sirius subscription to my listening mix. I'd really like to see an Audiovox Xpress form-factor; I have a spot on my dash all ready for it.

Nice choice with the Carmy Hybrid. What color? Were any of the option packages available (e.g,. Nav)?

Did you pay under MSRP?
