Default SEMA: Dodge Dakota "Warrior" Concept

I used to own a Dakota, so I'm naturally interested when they come out with rigged-up demo models (especially for the SEMA show)!

Dodge Dakota Warrior H.O.:
Inspired by the highly specialized “pre-runner” desert racing trucks, the Dodge Dakota Warrior H.O. (High Output) delivers what the SkunkWerks team calls the logical evolution of the versatile Dodge Dakota Quad Cab.

Powered by the Dodge Dakota’s 260-horsepower 4.7-liter High Output engine, the Dakota Warrior H.O. represents the ultimate off-road mid-size pickup truck. It features a water-fording intake system, a wider track, front-bumper winch with tow hooks, decoupling sway bars and off-road tires. The interior features two-tone orange and black racing bucket seats from Katzkin.

A hood scoop, wheel flares, custom spare holder, a special tubular tail gate, light bar and sport bar add to the rugged character of the Dodge Dakota Warrior H.O.

I have always liked the look Dakota Quad cab. Does the pictures of the Dakota share the new sheet for the 05 body?

Cool looking truck! With all the bells and whistles this comes with, not much need to go looking for aftermarket parts.

Dodge was stupid for not fitting the HEMI in that truck, or at least a detuned version so as not to take away from the full size trucks.. How many people who buy this are going to be asked the question, "That thing got a HEMI?"

Nissan's new 4.0L V6 puts out 270hp. Yeah, not as much torque, but 260hp is not exactly high output these days for a V8.

Don't worry, I'm sure that they'll have a HEMI version out at some point... But it will most likely be in an SRT edition.

I read somewhere that the HEMI won't fit in the new Dakota..

Here it is, from a C&D article
Quote:
He tells us the Hemi's width would necessitate changes to the frame and upper-control-arm mounting points, resulting in additional development that wouldn't be cost-effective. Too bad, because we expected that Chrysler's magic motor would fit in the big engine bay.
Eventually, I'm sure they will make it fit.

Dam talk about raising a dead thread.

Now I see why, you always include a link to your website in every post.
