Building a Beagle Barrier
Here is what I have had to do the past week since my beagles starting digging out under the fence. (Neighbor's girls kept calling the beagles to the fence and it appears some of the dirt was thrown toward their side. Doens't matter now, they have learned to dig out.
Her are the culprits that are causing all this work.

Here is what I am laying all (no make that AAALLLLLL) around the edge of the yard.
Brick measures 8" x 16 " by 1/2" and weighs 20 pounds EACH! What looks like four bricks is actually one brick. Remember that weight when we go to transporting them.

Here is a sample of their excavation work somewhere in my yard. The holes under the fence have all been covered up by the time I took these photos.

And then there is that #^%#$%^ gate. Can 't be too high with the bricks or the gate won't open or close. Two sided gate btw. Too low and the beagles will get out. And then my hand kept hitting the metal pole.
BTW the bricks continue on under the deck so they can't dig out there.

Sounds like quite the project. Nice big backyard too!
My dad (iglesias) had a beagle when he was a kid who would dig holes and bark into them. Beagles are funny dogs. |

Why I need a Pilot - Hauling Those Bricks
Remember those 20 pound bricks, here are about 30 - 35 in the trunk of my Impala. That's about 600 - 700 pounds in the trunk behind the rear axle, maybe a little over the axle. And we DON'T want to talk about the pasenger payload - CLEAR?

Yes that is a NC State sticker for my daughter and a Duke sticker for my wife. Son still in HS. If he goes to UNC Chappel Hill, I will get beat up no matter where I am in NC.
BTW yes there is a row of brick usually in front of that back row. of brick.
