Exclamation *ALERT* *ALERT* Hot prices on Dell Laptops *ALERT* *ALERT*

Not sure how long this will last, but right now you can go to www.dell.com and shop in the "Home" section for a laptop. If you are lucky and they are not all sold out (that would be weird) you can purchase a laptop that is at least $1500.00 and add the code I have supplied below. That will take $750.00 off

This deal is real and has been going on now almost two days, but I just found out and had to let you all know.

The code to use at the end in your shopping cart is ZD5$P0NS954P16

If you would like to read a few post from the other thread you can go HERE

I hope this helps someone out that is shopping for one or was at least thinking of getting one. I would have, but this whole getting married thing has put a stop to my spending

D'oh! Missed it!

And Dell had 40 percent off desktops last week... These recent deals are nuts!

They must be trying to goose their sales or clear inventory.

I picked up a Dell 700m for my daughter 2 weeks ago. At that time, it was $500 instant savings and $200 MIR. I'm trying to get Dell to credit me for the difference by threatening to use Dell's 21-day return window.

I'm getting that the coupon has already expired. I got an 8600 last month so I wasn't going to use the coupon anyway.

Yup, it was a one-day coupon.

Keep an eye out. Given the recent series of 3 promotions, it appears that Dell is having trouble meeting it's 10-31-04 quarterly sales numbers, thereby prompting these escalating deals.

Yeah, I figured it had something to do with making sure they sold X amount of units in a certain time frame. I wish I would have gotten in on the desktop deal. I need one of those and an lcd would be great too. Keep your eyes open and post updates of deals on this thread since now we will be subscribed to it. That way we can keep tabs on Dell deals!

Well I must say that the future Mrs. FLPilot usually doesn't complain when I buy things since I usually only buy it when I know I am getting a great deal. She wouldn't have had a problem with the purchase of the lappy, but I would rather save for the wedding and then buy something later on. I always laugh at my buddies though that need to ask permission to buy something or even to work an extra shift. They all said they would be laughing at me someday....guess we shall see.

LOL

Actually, there's only a slight modification to the lifestyle. It goes something like this:

Toy for me,

Something special for you.

Toy for me,

Something special for you.

and repeat ad infinitum.

BTW, just an update on Dell customer service.

Dell's first email reply denied my request for a price adjustment. I replied that I would return the lappy and order under their current incentive. Dell responded with a $100 credit, which I accepted. My current configuration would have been $100 cheaper ($50 more in incentives and $50 cheaper for some of my selected options).

Remember, if you buy from Dell, you have 21 days to return. Use this as leverage if they come out with better deals in the short time span following your order.

Good job sfhondapilot! Again if you all see any other deals on desktops please post or send me a PM as I am now looking for one.

FLPilot, would you want notification on Dell's 400SC deals?

This is their bottom of the line server but they frequently blow these out so that they can show high server numbers versus the competitors (HP). Most of these machines end up as gaming machines due to the AGP slot. Cost can be pretty cheap if you have an OS that can be installed (unlike the Dell desktops, they don't come packaged with an operating system).

I thought about going that route, but I think I would rather stick with a desktop deal that includes everything. I think I am savy enough to put it together, but at this point I just don't have the time to do it.

I wish I had popped into this thread last night for you, FLPilot. I picked up a good deal on a Dell but it expired @ midnight.

You might keep an eye on www.bensbargains.net for more deals; it's well organized.

Here's what I snagged for ~ $640 after rebate (tax accounts for $61 of that):

Dimension 4600 w/2.8G Pentium, 800MHz FSB
80G hard drive
512Mb RAM
15" flat screen (for my daughter; I have a 17" w/TV & speakers already)
XP Home
CD-R burner
DVD player
Floppy
Fax modem
Standard mouse n keyboard
Integrated 10/100 ethernet
Integrated video (Intel Extreme 2)
Integrated 5.1 surround sound
No speakers
2 yr service
Their usual free software stuff

There's a similar deal running now, but it's on the Dim 3000 line instead.

Default Ya snooze, ya lose ...

I sure wish I had been able to jump on that deal. I don't really need a laptop, but I've been wanting one and thinking about it for a while. Our backup/standby computer is pretty long in the tooth and hasn't even been booted in months. It's got Win95 and a 15" monitor and I'd hate to even have to use it in an emergency.

To get a mid to high-end notebook for $750 off, I'd jump at it, even if it's a POS Dell.

My wife used to "live" at fatwallet, but she hasn't been frequenting it much lately. She would have been all over this one.
