Outlook 203 problem, HELP anyone - Honda Pilot

I think I need some expert help.

My outlook got screwed up.

I thiunk I can only fix it by doing a complete de-install and re-install.
I have tried using the control panel add/delete programs, but whatever file is screwed up survives the de-install/re-install.

I have deleteed all the email accounts, and rebuilt them and still have the problem.
I have moved my .pst to another machine and teh problem did not follow so it is not in the .pst
I am lost as to what file to delete to get rid these lingering settings.

The symptomes are the send/receive button stopped working, ten on re-install disapeared completly.
The rules button stopped working then on re-install disapered completly.
Trying to set a default email account give an "Specified account doe not exist" error, yet the account is there and works.

HELP!!!!!!!!

Did you install sp2 on a xp operating system? If you did maybe the OS firewall is the culprit.

Nope, been running XP SP1.
The problem showed up when Outlook crashed a few weeks back.
I want to fix this before putting XP SP2 on that machine.
It is an Outlook problem, not an OS problem from everything I can tell.

Try uninstalling the program and reboot the system, then reinstalling the program.

You may need a drastic measure. From what I can tell, your outlook 2003 registry file is corrupted. Even if you uninstall the program, the corrupted file stays in the registry. Are you familiar w/ editing the Registry?

I can do that as a last resort.

But don't know what to look for.

Isn't there a way to install a fresh copy of Outlook that does not rely on old settings?

In the DOS world, you just put the new program in a new directory, or in old windows you just delete the .ini file
