Default Digital camera question

After a ton of research, I've decided on the camera that I want. I'm looking to get a Cannon A60.
Some of the more higher end cameras have a connection to hook up to a TV and show the pictures on it.
The A60 does not have this feature, but does have the usb connection for downloading pictures to the computer.

So here is the question: Can you get a cable that will allow you plug into the USB port on the camera and then plug it into the TV to show see the pictures there??

Thanks,
G.

I've never seen one. The digital cameras that I've seen that allow you to playback on TV include a mini-plug to RCA video plug cable, and the miniplug jack on the camera.

I thought that the Cannon A60 had the ability to do what you're asking, so I just did a quick lookup on Canon's website and it looks like the A60 does have the option to plug it into a tv. See the following link with what is included in the A60 kit:

http://www.powershot.com/powershot2/a70-60/kit.html

I own a Canon A80 and it's a great camera. I'm sure you will like the A60 as well. If you haven't already done so, check out the following site for more info:

www.dpreview.com

The boards there are pretty helpful!

Have fun with your new camera!!

Mr. Gilmore you sneaky dude. I looked through the specifications and it mentions the USB port, but no AV port/plug in.

But the backdoor route you took does show the cable, and I would assume that they wouldn't sell the cable if it didn't have the plug for it.

Good job!!
Kinda stupid that they don't put it in the specifications.

Thanks all,
G.

Enjoy! Just make sure the first picture you take with the new camera is of a Pilot, and post it!

There are also photo viewers that are separate from your cameras. You just put in the media from your camera, and it does the rest of the work for you. The Sandisk model I've sold customers even has a remote control. Pretty spiffy.

Keep in mind, that anytime you connect your camera to something (including your computer) without an external AC Adapter, you're going to zap your battery life. I would expect a TV to be a big draw too.

Have fun :-)

Booger,
I have the Canon A70. It came with an A/V cable to hook directly to a tv or vcr. There is a separate port on the camera for this cable.

Default Thanks!!

You guys have responded as I figured, with great answers.

I will take a look at the Sandisk viewing option. It looks like you can stuff your memory card into it and plug into TV. Great idea.

I just hate shopping for electronic crap because there are so many options, variables, formats etc..

Being a simple ME it gets overwhelming, especially when I don't know the jargen and don't want to learn it!!

Thanks again,
G.

We just picked up a Canon A80 before Christmas and it has an A/V cable as well. Haven't tried that feature yet, but these are great cameras.

Enjoy.

no, but I guess its time I add to that thread. By the way, what is the proper posting etiquette regarding the dimensions/ size to use when posting a photograph?

A picture needs to be less than 200k. I find that 640x480 works well.
