Default Anyone into audio as much as their car?

Anyone here share a passion for sound systems in their homes as much as their car. Do you tweak your audio gear like you tweak your ride? Do you have more speakers than systems to play them? Do you surf Ebay for audio? Just wondering.

Wardsweb,

I am a electronics enthusiast in general. I love to figure out how things work, and I definitely enjoy exploring new technology to apply to my systems.

I'm currently in the middle of a sound system installation at my church where I'm putting in a 24 channel Midas mixing console and Servodrive SPL TD-1 main speaker, among other things. I now have over 4000 watts of amplification. I am the only person who ever sits at the controls.

I have a degree in vocal performance and audio engineering. I used to manage a professional 24-track recording studio (still have some of the old 2 inch tape around here somewhere).

I don't usually put much time or money into upgrading a car audio system unless it really stinks, but my home system is fairly extensive, inculding not one, but TWO quarter-track open reel tape machines.

Does that count?

Wardsweb,

Thats one amazing setup. We've chatted about hometheaters in previous threads. I'm a B&W guy (CDM series) and am seriously considering upgrading my current receiver(used as a prepro into a sherbourn 5/1500a amp) to a NAD T752 again to be used as a preamp.

Anybody have any experience with NAD products?

Very nice! It' s hard to tell--are those ribbon speakers (on the sides)? And what's the volume (physical, not audible) of those ported subs? Not to nit-pick, but who set your eq?

I'm glad to see that someone else still knows the value of analog for high quality sound!
