Default DVD to Ipod conversion

Now that I've picked up an IPOD with video, I want to add movies to it for the RES system.

There are a bunch of DVD to Ipod software converters out there. Interested to user experience on any of them.

I tried most of the available "converters" and found most of them wanting in one way or another. Finally found a tutorial on using Nero Recode. You have to use a program like DVDFab HDDecrypter ( free ) first to rip the DVD files to the hardrive ( illegal by the way ). DVDFab also has a built in converter but last time I checked you had to buy it.

This link has several different methods using different software on a Mac or PC. Page 5 has Nero Recode method on a PC.

Use a ripping program for your computer platform. Then use Handbrake (free). Make sure to pick the output format that you want then let it do its thing. I use it to convert movies for my son's Nano, my 5G iPod video and my iPhone. Also a great way to convert movies for use with a media center.
