Default Home Theater Systems Tannoy Arena 5.1

So, Pilotdad is getting a system for Christmas.
We know the Tannoy arena is an amazing value.
I'm just interested to see if any other Piloteers have heard of this system, maybe even own this system, and what your thoughts/regrets might be.
We are going to drive it with an Onkyo TXSR705.

Right now we are listening to music through our TV! Hideous alarm clock quality sound. So I'm sure we'll be pleased with it.

I'll just have to get used to it's alien appearance...the center channel looks like E.T.!

Since the system will not fit in a Pilot, I'll move this thread to off-topic.

With the third row stowed it'll fit.

Thanks, Olde Fart!
I thought audio was close enough.
Nobody owns a Tannoy system eh? Bummer. Guess I'll have to wait 10 days in agony. Love my music...especially this CELLO group called "Apocalyptica". A song called Farewell brings tears! Something about those strings.
Can't wait to hear them on real speakers! Here they are (the satellite at least), as alien as they may look, they're supposed to sound just as unforgettable:

You mean you bought these speakers without listening to them?

Oh Lordy no; we have. A friend owns an identical set. We hadn't even heard of the brand before, but were blown away. Then we researched them online and found this whole new audio world that I had no idea about. I always assumed BOSE was the top of the line, and i'd have been perfectly happy to buy them. BUT....

...Pilotdad has researched everything at the AVS forum, turning into a certified geek.

We definitely know what we're buying, just wondering if anyone else may have the same set, to see how they like them.

Hope you all stayed safe over the holidays, we had our first white christmas in decades, it was beautiful! Today is sunny so i will be running out shortly to see the snow covered mountains, so beautiful.

Tannoy countdown 10 days...

OB3! Wow! We are all still lurking here aren't we.
Pilotdad is probably called seahawk or something like that over at the avs forum...checking it out daily, great place to learn! It's like he's discovered a whole new world, and him being an electrical inspector at work, this kind of stuff is right up his alley.

We're keeping close contact with the owner at the audio place. Tannoy had the set on back order, I believe only in the black that we wanted. (well, i wanted bronze)

We're going to travel down to Oregon to pick them up. Sure not widely available!
I'll have to post pics once we're all set up.

Anyone care to show off their set ups?

good to hear from you! 2 pilots? I'm excited to see that '09-hope it's not too funkified, i like her classic lines.
