the d40 is a great camera also... i just prefered the feel of the d50 body with my fat square fred flintstone type hands
 many articles have stated the d40 pixel count compared to the d40x (6.1 v. 10) is almost neglegible unless you print larger than 24x30 its a great camera.... the canon rebel xt(i) also.. One more day, it will be here tomorrow
