Question Douh! CD question

I was burning a couple of disks from music i'd purchased on-line, and accidently got 2 mixed up when I was labeling them with a Sharpie.

Is there anyway to remove Sharpie from a CD?

Try alcohol
Try not to get it in the data side.
Try a label
Try not to get it on the data side.

Sharpie's FAQ recommands the following to remove permanent ink from a CD.

http://www.amodexink.com

The amodexink site mentions you can find their products in New York. Look in the laundry detergent aisle at your local Big Y, Stop and Shop and Rocke Bros stores.

It is probably too late to using rubbing alcohol, but Mr Clean Magic Eraser might work.

The following is from Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharpie_(marker)

Quote:
Though Sharpie ink will become permanent after enough time to set, it can be easily erased for several hours after writing on many glossy surfaces. Since the ink is based on propanol, butanol and diacetone alcohols, rubbing alcohol will remove permanent ink writing. Sharpie ink can generally be erased from CDs, microscope slides and plastic bottles within several hours. Sharpie ink that has dried for more than several hours will come off very little, if at all, with alcohol. On some surfaces, the ink can be removed by coloring over the ink with a dry erase marker and then removing the Sharpie ink and dry erase marker ink with a dry cloth. Steam cleaning has proved effective also. Magic Eraser has also proven somewhat effective on hard surfaces such as brick.
However, I think it is much easier to burn a new CD.

That might be what he was referring to: drink enough until you forget about the CD.

Funny - "wasted" seems to be exactly what some people have in mind for the other...
