Default New Ie 7.0

Anyone try out the new IE 7 Beta version yet. The GUI is slightly different....the main thing I like so far is that instead of having multiple IE windows open, you can have multiple sessions open within 1 IE window. The different sessions are defined by tabs - similar to multiple worksheets in one Excel spreadsheet. Also to temporary allow a pop-up you can just hold the ctrl key and click on the link.

Or more similar to other browsers like Firefox and Opera which I use and are both way better than IE.

I've only used Firefox a few times on Linux and never used Opera so the new IE is a bit of fresh-air for me .

I downloaded IE7 beta a while back, but it was so buggy that I switched to Firefox. Let me know when the official release is, and I MIGHT just check it out. I know betas aren't expected to be perfect, but Microsoft really blew it with such a poor beta release. That and the difficulty of switching back to IE6 when I was dissatisfied sent me straight to the competition.

Interesting. I have been using it for a few a couple of months now and have not experienced major problems. Definitely an upgrade over v 6.

I used the 1st beta version, I think now is the 2nd beta version ?

I used that for roughly a month, has a few problems that annoying me.

At that time, it did not have Chinese character support, so I load up my software, and it kind of crashed, i have to quickly open 2 session to make it stay, instead of kick me out, then REport error, which I did report.

2nd, some web sites, icluding MS's own web site did not display correctly.

3rd it does not have big advance then the IE6, I only wanted to try the zoom feature, mentioned by one member here.

The 2nd version may fix the above, but I have not try, will wait.

One good thing was, I could uninstall direct from my XP Add/Remove programe, but a lot of post saying that it could not be done that way

Good luck

call me crazy but I find very little reason to switch from firefox to IE 7 - the only reason why I would do so is b/c my company's proxy will not allow me to run anything not MS.

If by proxy, you mean proxy server, you can configure Firefox to use the same server.

Tools > Options > General > Connection Settings...
