This is one of those, buy cheap and expect to replace it at a point in time questions, or buy Heavy duty and expect it to last a long time.
I'm an HP fan, and at the cheap end their 1320 (under $300) does well, heavier duty end the 2420 ($650) is a nice unit with duplexing or heavy duty 4240 ($1000) that we use where we work and we beat on them. |

HP makes great laser printers as I've worked on them for several years. Although, the newer ones don't compare to the older models in terms of reliability and ease of maintainence. If you can afford it, go with an HP. If you are looking for a good lite duty laser printer for around 100$, Dell sells one with their name on it that is actually a Samsung.

If your looking for just a good personal laser to see modest use, Samsung ML-2250 22ppm Laser Printer (around for 99.00 or less), The carts are about 65.00 for 2500 prints (5% coverage).
Costco has a Canon unit (http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...v=&browse=&s=1) online that is also a color scanner (89.00), the cool thing is that the carts are only 35.00 online and they print about 2000 prints (5%). Handy if you need a quick copier too. Also Dell had a very nice Laser, 3100cn $239 shipped free but I believe it was over on the 2nd, they always come back around though. |

I just picked up a Samsung 2010 today at Staples 20th anniv sale
Costco had them last week for 150 - 50 mail in rebate. This is a 22 ppm laser with 8 megs or ram, very good unit for 100 bucks... even better for 50.00 to your door! Order online, enter the 30.00 online coupon, shipping is set to free by default, then when your order is complete it will prompt you for your order number and model purchased, the EBate at Staples is great, it will then start to process your rebate of 50.00 so net is about 50.00, not bad at all , Im glad I didnt pick this up at Costco last week. http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/st...=StaplesBeFree |
