Default IE7 Beta 2 (Public) Released

I'm normally a Firefox person, but I must say that it's a fairly dramatic improvement over IE6. I especially like the built-in zoom features for those of us with high-resolution displays. Check it out:

I have downloaded it, and generally like it, but am having a problem. When IE7 opens a new window, whether it's a new tab or something like a link to a video that uses Media Player, I get a "You are not connected to the internet" error. I am connected to the internet. Web sites in the original window continue to work.

I'm trying to find a solution at the MS web site, but if someone here knows of a fix (probably just a setting somewhere) I'd appreciate it.

One thing you may want to try is under Tools turn off the Phishing Filter, if its set to auto website update you may have issues. This seemed to fix it on my laptop, but I dont have the symptom on my desktops.. maybe just one of those issues with a beta release

Thanks. Tried it but it didn't help. Also, following the advice of a post at a MS forum, I turned off "dial a new connection" in Internet Options and made sure all of the boxes were un-checked in the LAN settings.

Still no joy.

Keep the suggestions coming.

Upin further research, this appears to be a bug in the beta version. It may be related to my firewall and the way it allows access to websites.

Just downloaded Firefox.
