Default where to buy memory cheap

My hp notebook died. So, I picked up a cheapo Gateway notebook for $600. It only came with 256mb of memory. Looking to upgrade it to 1Gb memory. Who's got the cheapest price on memory?

If you want to buy it from a local store, Fry's has the cheapest price. Just get the Friday newspaper.

If you want to get it from internet, memorysuppliers.com and crucial.com are very good websites.

Newegg.com is a great site. Super fast shipping and super low prices. They're located in SoCal, so the stuff usually gets here overnight.

I once ordered a mobo at 8pm and it was delivered at 10am the next day

Other than that, Frys is about the only decent brick and mortar.

I 2nd NewEgg.com about all I use any more, returns are simple, prices are good and overall hard to find a better online experience.

I use newegg.com too. When I wander around in Fry's all I see are boxes (mobos, disks, etc) with "this is a returned item" sticker on them. I don't buy that stuff from them any more. I've used pcbuzzcomputers.com to get a couple of athlon-based PCs for home (linux and windows systems). No problems with those other than some power-failure induced (wife's hair dryer, portable heater, tv, etc plus the computers = breaker trip) disk drive and power supply failures. The disk was just out of warranty.

Hey Wilson, I just got an upgrade for a Sony VAIO that I use in the garage for internet, email and the like, Memory Ten is oustanding for notebook memory, not the most inexpensive but they are really helpful
