Greetings,
I just purchased a Motorola V220 cell phone. I decided I wanted to try to put my own graphics and/or ringtones on the phone via my computer so I purchased a USB data cable off eBay. It came with a driver CD and, as fate would have it, my Windows XP doesn't like the software that came with it. I've searched various places on the internet and see that finding a suitable XP driver for this phone has been a saga for many. Motorola does offer, however, some software called "Mobile Phone Tools" but says that you also need to purchase their data cable to use it. I get the distinct feeling that The Man (whoever he is) doesn't want the consumer to have the capability to put his/her own graphics and ringtones on these phones and, instead, wants us to *purchase* them from various sources. Has anyone tried successfully to use a USB cable with their cell phone, particularly with this brand and model?
