Need help with picture formats - Honda Pilot

For some reason, if I try to save a GIF from the net or any other picture for that matter, it only allows me to save it in BMP format. Anyone know what I may have done to allow this to happen to me? I just want to be able to save pictures in their original format, which my computer is not allowing me to do right now. The only thing I can think of at this point is to reinstall the system from scratch, but that means losing everything I have. Any suggestions?

What browser are you using? Perhaps there's a setting somewhere that's doing this.

It seems like you installed a rogue application that hijacked the default extension association. Try to determine w/c application you recently installed that cause this problem. By going to windows explorer>tools>folder options>file types>check all the programs that you recently installed and their file extension. If you can find the culprit, highlight it and click delete. It will give you a warning but click yes.

BTW, try scanning you h/d w/ lavasoft ad-aware and spybot search and destroy to see if you have any spyware on your system.

Try checking here to see if you can correct the problem before reformating your h/d & reinstalling your os and other applications.
