Question XP Experts???

Anyone have a good solution for keeping tow directories in sync?

I want to map my working directory to one on a external drive to be able to keep them each updated?

Any tips would be appreciated.

At first I thought you were asking about keeping two HD's in sync, to which I was going to suggest an array, but if you just need to keep a few dirs in sync, then I'd suggest you take a look at Second Copy 2000 at www.centered.com. I used to use this before I setup RAID1 in my box.

It's a decent app and I got it from my usual sources, so I don't know whether it's a freeware or you just download the demo. If it's just a demo, gimme a PM and I'll hook you up with my registered copy.

Or, you can always use XP's Briefcase, which I've been told that it's actually a very useful and rather robust app that comes with XP. Check out http://support.microsoft.com/default...07885&sd=tech. And there's also Backup, also included with XP Pro (Accesories->System Tools->Back Up). I know alot of people who use these two apps to do what you're looking for, so check them out as well.

Going to have to try the Briefcase.

I tried it years ago, and did not lie it but forget why.

I would rather have a second DIR that is readable rather than a "back-up" file that has to be opened.

Briefcase is a good utility to sync your daily files but I rather use this tiny utility(Sync Assistant) from Bruno Cancellieri. Check here.
