Default Free ISP dialup for the DC area?

I am going to spend two days at mother-in-law's apartment near GW hospital in DC for Thanksgiving. Now, I enjoy DC, but with a broken leg, I am not going to be able to get out this apartment. I am cable modem subscriber in NC, so being in DC my broadband connection will be suspended. Anybody know of a free dialup with a local access number in the DC area I can connect to for a few days? Thanks.......

Try NetZero - they have dialup access nationwide. Go to netzero.com, they do have a limit of how many hours you can get on their free service for a month.

Netzero.com gives 10 hours free.

Contact your cable company, I used to have Road Runner and Comcast, both offered dialup as a "benefit" to the cable modem as they know your their ISP and need something for a few hours when your away from home. My Road Runner was unlimited, then reduced to 10-20 hours.

If you've got a wireless card, chances are you'll find someone in the neighborhood who's wireless router is open. Just be nice.

Guys-
Thanks for the input. I am scared to put AOL because of the horror of not being able to completely uninstall it when I am through. The cable modem company is Mediacom out of ATL, don't they have a presence in DC. I do have a Toshiba tablet PC with a wireless nic, I will be on the look, good idea. Does MSN offer free hours to try? I will look into NetZero? Thanks.

I've never heard of Mediacom in this area, at least not as an ISP.

And you're afraid to install AOL, but asking about free MSN hours?
