I can't wait. Preseason is coming up in 2 weeks. I hoping a team steps up this year to be the underdog and win, but so far it's been the same strong teams for the last 7 years or so.

I know the D.C. area is ready. I've seen more people wearing Rdeskins regalia and cars sporting Redskins vanity plates in the last 6 months than I have in the previous 11 years. What a difference a Gibbs makes. He's probably already paid for himself in increased merchandise sales, and the team hasn't even had a practice in pads yet.

One thing's for sure, the number of stupid penalties will decline dramatically.

When you've been as down as the Skins, everything's looking up. And coach has already demonstrated, by his and his staff's work ethic, that there's a new game in town. Being in the game mentally and physically on every down will be a huge improvement over the last several years. Kickin' some Cowboy butt would be a bonus!

Ah, football! Can't wait!!
I think it's a safe bet that the NFC East will be the most interesting division this year.
Just glad I'm not in Dolphin land .

I'm completely ignoring this Dolphin season (this is me being angry). All of the chaos and insanity....

Bump. I just can't begin find the words to describe the absolute elation I experience when seeing the TV camera pan to the sideline and see Gibbs, Bugel, Breaux, or the other ex now current Redskin coaches standing there.

I'm also reminded of the story of why Gibbs got out, went into racing, and came back; if the story's true, and I think it is, he went into racing for his son J.D., who had an interest and is now the president of Joe Gibbs Racing. He returned to coaching because of his son Coy, who has an interest in it, and is an assistant with the 'Skins. What a Dad! What a coach. What a guy!

(I'm still rooting for the 24 car in NASCAR, though.)

I heard the same thing during the commentary of the Skins/Broncos preseason game, but I'm sure he had plenty of personal motivation what with coaches like Parcells and Vermeil having sucessful runs.

That entered my feeble mind, too. Regardless, living in the D.C. area and experiencing all three SuperBowl runs, I'm a very happy camper. Granted, I'd just be happy with a mostly penalty-free team that leaves the effort on the field.

Perhaps. Until Parcells decides to pull another sneaky, underhanded, self-serving maneuver nobody expects. The man has simply never been forthright with any organization he's ever been with.
