Great pictures Borg. That is a wonderful way to go. Too bad about the close quarters at the campsites. Those will be great memories for the kids. Now that my kids are older they look back and we have some good laughs about those trips.
Thanks for posting the experience.

Thanks John, & yeah its nice to be back but you're also right about the kids not wanting the trip to "end so soon". There were a couple of grumpy faces when we were packing up to leave for home but I reminded them that we had another trip planned for Jasper Park last week of Agust & they perked up a little.

My tent can sleep eight plus an entry/vestibule that is part of the fly that extends past the front of the tent. With the air mats and all our gear I'm glad we have the bigger tent, plus the vestibule is used like a "mudroom", so we dont track dirt into the sleeping quarters.

My little family is going on a trip (with the baby...yikes) and a couple friends. It should be fun. I'll have to take lots of photos and post them here. That's not till The end of August though. Your pics got me excited about our trip
How close are you to WA State? I'm such a geography idiot when it comes to other countries. Any good parks I should drive up to, across the border?
Thank you, it's amazing what the kids remember....my boys are now 8 & 9 & they often talk about the fun trips we had when they were 2 & 3. At first I thought they remember by looking at the photos but they bring up events that would not have been captured with the camera & when they go into details & start laughing or teasing one another becuase of a happy or emabarassing moment it just brings a great big smile on my face.

You guys are tougher than us by taking the baby camping too, good for you guys......I wish we'd done that instead of waiting until the youngest was 2......the lost opportunities, they never come back

Osoyoos is but a half hour drive to the US border, it's a nice lake but its really busy. There seemed to be a few campgrounds but we unfortunately picked one of the busier ones. Oh well, live & learn.

I hear you, it's the only way to experience the great outdoors. Although sometimes I wish I could upgrade to a trailer, maybe someday. You're comments just confirmed why I do these trips, it's for the kids.....it doesnt matter if its pouring rain & you're packing up the tent, they're in the truck playing cards having fun & staying dry....

Great pics, borg!!! Looks like you and your family had loads of fun. It's amazing how kids take to water so well and for so long. Even our girls love staying in water for hours on end.

Heading towards Banff over the weekend for some camping as well, but it'll only be for 3 nights. Just came back from a week long vacation from Fairmont, B.C. and wanted to squeeze in a decent camping trip before the end of my holidays. Hope it won't be too crowded, but who knows.

We have stayed within Minnesota so far this summer, we were planning on going up to Kakabeka PP by Thunder Bay for Labor Day weekend but my daughters start school 2 days before LD weekend, so the wife was concerned about pulling them out on the 2nd day of school. We would have liked to venture farther but we went to Italy last March and that took a lot of my vacation and a lot of the vacation budget. Otherwise it has all been within 400 miles or so, I think we are up to 6 trips of more than 2 nights this year so far.

We do have the start of a plan to go to Mt St Helens next summer, which sounds like it would be fun. We hope to be able to fit Bannf in as well.

Matt

That's awesome, that's the beauty of having a trailer....it makes it so much easier to just pick up & go, for couple of days trip it doenst require all that much planning.

i hope you're able to include Banff in your itenirary next summer, you'll love it.
