Default The PGA, heres another Chance

Alrighty then, I can tell from the British Open thread that golf is a hot topic here.

So here goes another, who is your favorite to win the last major of the year, the PGA ? Easy money goes to Tiger, but I will go out on a limb here and say that this could be Phil M. turn, even though hes not playing his best golf right now. This should be a great tournament.

Yeah, I agree. Over the last few years, the PGA Championship has provided the most dramatic and exciting finishes compared to the other majors. I'd like to see TW win too, at this point, it's hard to say. I don't think this is another year of the Tiger. I see Hank Kuehne is in the field who'a always fun to watch. Should be a good one.

Can I root against Vijay Singh?

I'd like to see Ben Curtis (winner of the 2003 British Open Championship last month) win, but that's just wishful thinking on my part for the underdog...

Kemo, I'm with you about Vijay. After his despicable behavior towards Annika at the Colonial, I was ready to throw away my Cleveland wedges. I'd like to see Phil win, but I'm afraid he'll choke again. Tiger has to be the odds on favorite, now that he's back with his Titlist driver.

I was watching the golf channel last night and they were talking about the length of H. Kuehnes drives. I guess he can put them out there around 320, longer than Tiger.

Should be a great tournament, I would like to see tiger win, its amazing how the reporters can talk about Tigers "slump", the guy has played in fewer tournaments than everyone else, yet he has won 4 times this year, only Davis Love has won as many as T.W.

Davis Love III has flourished so brilliantly on the course while enduring such an abysmal season off it...

Didn't the FBI inform Love that his brother-in-law, Jeff Knight, had embezzled between $500,000 and $1 million from him? And then Knight commited suicide shortly afterwards?

And there was the rumor that Robin, Love's wife, had engaged in a series of affairs with college students while Love was on the road?

tony, yeah, the man can bomb it out there. The amazing thing is, through surgery, he's had to lose most of the biceps in his left arm, I believe, because of some injury he sustained there. But he's still as long as ever.
kemosabe, oh, so that's what it was. I read that Davis' wife might've been suffering from substance abuse. Either way, if any of it is true, it's really too bad.

Then, there's John Daly. Who's fourth wife has now been charged with money laundering and racketeering along with her parents. Daly said he had absolutely no idea that his wife was involved in such activities.

If you guys enjoy golf, there's a book written by Rick Reilly of SI titled, "Who's Your Caddy?" It's a funny book. I got it as a Father's Day gift and it was very, very entertaining. Don't pay full retail price for it though. Though receiving it as a gift was nice, I kinda cringed when I saw how much my wife had paid for the book. Wait for the bargain bin, if it's not there already.

RipRocK: I think I know why he had to lose most of the biceps in his left (or was it right) arm...

Vijay isn't too popular these days, it was a shame that he felt that way, I thought it was great to see Annika play against the boys.

I caught only part of Davis's press conference and was wondering what reporters were refering to when they were trying to get him to talk about it. This is the first I have heard of it, poor guy, I hope its not true.

Well, after the first round, Phil Mickelson carded a sterling opening 66 yesterday to share the lead at the 85th PGA Championship... And then he refused to visit the interview room!

And then, Tiger Woods posted a galling 74 on the par-70 layout and marched past the media, rage oozing from every pore!

Seems that tempers are a wee bit on edge the 1st day...

For those Midwesterners out there, what do you think about the PGA Championship coming to Whistling Straits in Kohler, WI next year?
Can't wait to see that!

I'm sure Phil did not want to hear from reporters " so Phil, when are you going to choke, is it going to be on Fri., Sat., or Sun.", I'm sure he was thinking he just wanted to stay positive. Or maybe he had a girl from Hooters waiting for him back in his room and he was in a hurry to get back there.

I felt bad for Tiger, bad day for him. nows he's 8 shots back, almost too much of a gap already. It would be fun to se me shoot low today(Friday) though to get back back in it.

I was catching up on the latest news from the PGA, and I noticed that the Washington Post had a Poll (hey, we have those here on honda-pilot.org, too!!!) on who people think will win it --Nothing too surprising...

Default End of the 2nd Round

Shaun Micheel, the latest surprise in a major, birdied four of his last five holes Friday to vault into the lead with a 2-under 68 take a two-stroke lead into the weekend.

Phil Mickelson stumbled out of the lead...

Tiger Woods continues to struggle and is seven shots back...
