Annika: What do yathinka?

Well, there's a long way to go, but Annika Sorenstam surely didn't embarrass herself today playing golf with "the boys."

What do you think of:

1. Her chances to make "the cut"?

2. The idea of very talented women like Annika playing in men's tournaments?

3. Her next move following this....does she return to stomping the rest of the LPGA....or what? (put another way: how do you keep 'em down on the farm once.......)

well like I said before if she wins she not only selects the dinner but also cooks it....

1. I hope she makes the cut, but seems unlikely.

2. Golf is a non-contact sport unlike football, so, PGA and LPGA should merge and make it permanent.

3. A sinificant event like Colonial could make a negative impact. I hope that is not the case and her career takes off and make the other LPGA members more competitive.

but seriously I hope she makes the cut and guess does decently well to shut up Morons like Vijay Singh.

my guess is she will stay in the middle of the pack. Nither real great nor bad....the media will thus not have much to write about and the story will go away

I, too, think she'll end up in the middle of the pack.

But I'm not sure that means the story goes away. Many seemed to be of the opinion that she would fall flat. If she does, I think there will be a flurry of stories along the lines of "told you so," "nice try, now back to business as usual," etc., but then the story will go away.

However, even if she falls in the middle of the pack, I think that means the "debate" will continue about whether women should be allowed to compete with men. Heck, Annika herself will probably be encouraged enough to continue to develop her game, and be back to give it another try later.

If, against all expectations, she's among the higher finishers, watch out, everyone, the press will be all over it.....and it's just the beginning.

1. Too close to call
2. I think the every-so-often sponsor's exemption is OK, but to do so on a regular basis should require them to go thru Q-school just like the men.
3. I would think she would rather stay in LPGA. Their total purses may be smaller, but I think she is better off getting winners $$$ there than getting middle of the pack $$$ on the men's tour.
4. Let's give Vijay Singh a sponsor's exemption for the next LPGA event

Well, it looks like Annika Skywalker gave it her best shot today, but didn't play as well as she'd hoped...

Does anybody else besides me think that Sorenstam looks a little like Tonya Harding...???
