Default Honda Pilot Ads

I guess this falls under the Sports & Outdoor Adventure category...

I was reading the April 2003 issue of Bicycling magazine when I ran across my first printed ad for the Pilot -- it's actually a two-page ad, but the second page is just scenery (will scan and post, if requested).

This ad was also in the December 16, 2002 and the March 24, 2003 issues of Time magazine, too!!!

Every print ad and the few TV spots for the Pilot I've seen always show Starlight Silver!!! Now, why would that be....

Not enough people are buying them so ad execs decided to showcase the Silver ones in hopes that people will get them off the dealer's lots???

Ah, you Sandstone wannabes. Per Havasu's VIN table, Starlight Silver is the clear leader!

The one TV ad they run once in a while up here showed the black one. But this weekly Canadian autoshow which reviewed the Pilot, used my Pilot's color, HB. And man, she looked soooo darn pretty on that TV screen

Default Another Pilot Ad

Ran across my second Honda Pilot ad in a magazine: "Road & Track" (The Truck, SUV, Van Buyer's Guide for 2003)

This ad was also in the October 28, 2002 issue of "Time" magazine, too!!!

Anyone wondering why they keep pushing the offroad capabilities? They did the same thing when I saw a commercial a while ago.

Sure, it plays well for the macho side, and I'm sure there are a lot of owners who use it this way. I'd bet a box of donuts that most people will *never* have it off the pavement, however...

That's why I liked the Highlander commercial that sang about trips to the home improvement store. That's more applicable, true? I mean, it's great that it might work at the North Pole, but I don't have plans to go there anytime soon (esp as it's not on my Navi )

They seem to be missing the mark. At least the new Accord ads are quoting the reviews. Shouldn't they do likewise for the Pilot? Quote the number of best in class reviews, etc.?

Perhaps because otherwise people would go for the Odyssey (like we almost did...). Perhaps they see the offroad capabilities as the Pilot's distinguishing feature..for families who otherwise would be minivanning it...

I'm with you, Kemo!

Some of us like the exclusivity of our collector's limited edition Evergreen Pearl! We wouldn't want too many people to start demanding them, now would we??

If they pictured her in parking lots or driveways, she'd look like a Cosmo model cleaning house, or in line at the grocery store. That's not as much fun to look at, whether I hop rocks in it or not. I'll take her to the mountain passes, and the ads make me dream about it.
Keep them purty pitchers comin Honda.
