Default Wine Thread

I'm looking for new wine choices under $20 a bottle. What are your favorites?

No Trader Joe's here. It isn't so much the pricing as the brand. I'm bored w/ my brands and since there are so many, I know I'm missing out.

I enjoy Chard, Pino Grigio, Sauv. Blanc., and Cabs. I tend to like more woods-y (is that a word?) then fruity flavors. I'll take a look at the site. Thanks!

Oaky, or smoky flavors?

Stumbled on a great Chard. Farallon 2002/2003,

Under $8, and incredibly smooth.

Good with a meal, but even better to sip while watching Fox News!

If you are just going to get drunk, then all you need is cheap beer (like a CNN viewer).

Wine is to be enjoyed.

Napa, the Disneyland of wine country. (J/K)

You really should try Sonoma.

It costs a little more than the price range you are looking for but Ridge ATP list. Great wines and you will get a lot of lesser known veriatals. A.Raffanelli is another one that is more expensive but a great winery to have. If you can, get on the mailing list.

At the Smothers Brothers' winery in Sonoma they sell T-shirts that say:

Sonoma is for wine,
NAPA makes auto parts.

Everyone should include Monticello and Thomas Jefferson's wine cellar in their tour of Virginia Wineries.

Might as well toss in a visit to Old Dominion Brewery while you're at it.

Then you need a chaser of Virginia Gentleman Bourbon.

ROADTRIP!

Just be sure to have a designated driver.

I'm in! Since my wife doesn't drink, I always have a desginated driver as long as we take the Pilot and not the custom Ferrari but since we've had kids we never go out anyway so guess I'm not in after all.
