Default Got a 2003 Pilot EX-L This Weekend for MSRP plus Extras!

Hello,

Just joined the forum today. It is nice to see all the positive feedback on the Pilot. My wife and I purchased a EXL Starlight Silver Metallic Pilot on Saturday at Streater Smith Honda in Conroe,Tx.

http://www.streater-smithhonda.com/

The dealer had 1 silver EXL and a Havasu Blue LX left that was sold but being displayed on the showroom floor with 20" rims (interesting looking). After we both test drive the vehicle we were sold and ready to purchase. I had been researching the MDX since introduction and the Pilot as soon as I heard about it last fall so I knew what I wanted. We recently had a baby in December and needed to trade our 2000 Nissan Maxima for something with more room. This SUV fits the bill. We were both impressed with the room and the car-like ride of the vehicle. We are first time SUV owner's and really like the extra room and ride height.

We purchase the vehicle for MSRP and were given $1000 over payoff for our Maxima trade in (they also sell Nissans and Mitsus). The salesman even negociated and we received the side steps and rear splash guard accessories for no addtional cost (that is too cool). We had just beat 6 other couples from Houston driving up to look and possibly buy that vehicle (lucky indeed). As we were working on the paper work for the sale they showed our sold model to at least 3 other potential customers. Incredible reaction from all who viewed it.

The salesman (Phil) said they were getting in a few more on Thursday and 3 were already sold. 2 Silver's and a Red (not sure the versions) are what will be up for grabs.

Will post some pics when I get a chance next week with side rails and rear splash guards in place.

Congrats Lone Star ! You are one of the few members here who has received free accessories after paying MSRP. Especially things like Side-steps. Pretty Cool.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures in the Gallery.

Thumbs up Thanks

We were incredibly lucky in finding the vehicle we wanted on the first try and at MSRP with the two options (side rails and mudflaps) thrown in gratis. I took it over to my sister house yesterday for my niece's 3 year old Birthday Party. It was amazing, all the guest parents migrated around it like mosquitos to a bug zapper. They loved the look of it and the practicality it offers. Looks like the Honda Pilot is winner in the showroom. We really love it so far. Here's to years of fun driving with the soon to be 2003 Motor Trend/Automobile/Car and Driver SUV of the Year. It was the vehicle that matched our needs the closest.

The web site looks great and it is change of pace for me after being on the bimmer.org forums for so long. Thats what having a kid will do for you.

Joining the "welcome" chorus with 03.

I *am* having a hard time getting this image out of my head, though . Were there any survivors??

Talking No physical injuries

They're wallets and budgets may get zapped buying it.

Default About 20" rims

They did not look that bad but added an extra $3500 to the cost of the vehicle from the dealer as an customer added option. They were on a Havasu Blue LX. The rim design was a little pimpy for my taste however.

I can think of a lot of other options I would rather have for $3500.

This image I altered from tirerack will give you an idea of how it looked.

Smile Triad NC Pilot

We test drove a Pilot last month and fell in love with the great view and smooth ride. Other SUVs seemed closed-in to us, but the Pilot has great sight lines and an open, airy feeling. We ordered a gold Pilot but ended up taking a Havasu blue one (leather and DVD) that came in earlier. We have had the Pilot for 3 weeks and we can't get over what a great car it is! Our deal: We paid MSRP at Crown Honda in Greensboro. We got no extras but they offered to sell us accessories at their cost, plus installation. We did get Free tires for life (if we have all service work done on time at their dealership). I couldn't find another Honda dealer in the Triad that was offering a tire deal. We also got a "free" cleaning and wax coating every 6 months for three years (cost was baked into the purchase fees). We were not able to get a good deal for our trade-in, an '88 Jeep Cherokee, so we are going to have to sell that, ourselves. Good luck to others!
