I am interested in participating in a group buy for side steps, but I believe the price would be closer to $349. I missed the last one and would really like to add this accessory. The best I could get from the dealer was $650 installed and they told me that was cost.

We are talking about the round side steps, right?

I'll join if the price is around $350 with shipping included.

glad to see you guys reply,
i was getting close to just ordering
this elsewhere

wow, current price is 349...
either the price has dropped,
or i screwed up the numbers the
first time...lower is better

beowulf - the labor on these side steps
appear to vary from 1-3 hours depending
on the honda dealership...not sure how
this could take over an hour, but at $70-80
labor per hour, i figured i would do it myself

I installed runningboards myself, which is as laborious as the sidesteps, if not more. It took me three hours and a box of Wheaties to complete the job and two 500mg Tylenol at bedtime.

Question

I saw a Pilot with the side steps and they looked great. If I participate in the group buy, will I difficulty getting another Honda dealership installing them.

you may want to call up your local honda dealerships
and ask to make sure.

i called 3 in the area, and all said they would
do the install provided the parts were honda

Save your money and install them yourself. The installation is fairly simple, just tightening a bunch of bolts, no drilling, cutting, etc. I installed mine by myself in the dark in less than two hours. There really is very little to go wrong here.

Thumbs up Count me in for sid steps

I would like to get in on a group buy as well. Anything under $400 sounds great. Who is organizing this and how do I get in?

Thanks, Chaz

Chaz -

You guys currently have about 6 or 7 confirmed buyers. When you reach 10, someone (perhaps tim.s) needs to contact Tim (at hondacuraworld via PM or 1-888-RAY-LAKS) and let him know. When he approves it, it will usually be on the hondacuraworld.com web site under the Specials section for one week. Once it's there, go place your order. I just got done with a Group Buy for the Cargo Organizer -- piece of cake!!!
